MOUNTING, OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE COMPLETELY SEALED (HERMETIC) DISTRIBUTION TRANSFORMER
.) Transformer should be reviewed before it is commissioned and checked for any damages which may have been caused during transport. Any surfaces which require painting should be identified and then cleaned and painted again.
.) There are two lifting rings mounted on the boiler so that the transformer may be lifted and handled. No apparatus other than such rings must be used for lifting and handling purposes.
.) Any published and current governmental regulations must be applied to any mounting, operating and maintenance works.
.) If the transformer shall be mounted in an enclosed area, such area must be provided with a good ventilation system.
.) The transformer must be grounded by the use of the two chromium grounding terminals located under the cover and the boiler.
.) The oil of the transformer has been filled at a temperature of 25°C. The transformer boiler with a wave wall structure (specific to hermetic transformers) allows the oil to expand by volume and cool down without causing any permanent deformations.
.) ! ! ! ! The transformer must not certainly be opened unless it is necessary. ! ! ! ! In case any event occurs which absolutely requires to open it (replacement of bushings, replacement of gaskets, etc.), our factory must be contacted for the opening and closing processes.
.) The thermometer pocket is shipped with a blind cap unless a thermometer is demanded in your purchase order by you. In case you would like to fix a thermometer in such pocket, transformer oil must be filled in this pocket not to allow to overflow. This oil allows for the measurement of the coil temperature of the transformer by means of the thermometer. In case the thermometer is used, then the connections and operating functions should be checked.
.) The primary and secondary recall voltage values as provided in the rating label of the transformer must be checked for compliance with the network values.
.) The transformer's step shifting process must be carried out when the transformer is disconnected from the mains. The step shifting instructions are located on the control head of the step control key.
.) Attention must be paid to the tightness of the Middle voltage and Low voltage connections of the transformer. No metallic components must be used other than brass and copper nuts and washers fixed at such points. They must be checked at proper intervals.
.) The transformer and especially the porcelain bushings must be cleaned of dirt from time to time. They are therefore cleaned at regular intervals.
.) In case any oil leakage is noticed, the connections tightening the gaskets must be slightly tightened. In case the oil leakage continues, then our factory must be contacted.
.) The arc horns distances must be checked according to the following table. If any changes have occurred during transport, they must be adjusted again.
